HSC Technology Exhibition
On Monday, 28 August, the College hosted its Annual Technology and Applied Studies Major Works Exhibition evening. This event provided the opportunity for Year 12 students to showcase their many talents and hard work applied throughout the year. Students from a variety of disciplines displayed their major project work for Industrial Technology: Timber, Industrial Technology: Multimedia and Design and Technology. The guests enjoyed a light supper, catered and served by the talented Year 11 Hospitality Students.
Works displayed on the night included professional standard short films and high quality animations by the Multimedia students. Timber students displayed a collection of beautiful and well crafted furniture pieces, ranging from hall tables with drawers and mirror through to an intricately constructed wooden merry-go-round. Showcased by the Design and Technology students were a variety of innovative design products ranging from light-up exercise apparel for safe physical activities during the twilight hours, through to designs that incorporated recycled materials to develop environmental awareness and reforming those materials into a creative product.
It was wonderful to see parents and students from various year groups attending the evening, admiring and commenting on the excellence put forward by our Year 12 Technology Major Project students.
It was a wonderful evening, and I would like to thank all of the TAS staff for their support in organising and presenting the evening. In particular, the Major Project class teachers Mr Phil Ruxton, Mr Simon Livesey and Mrs Natalie Longworth and the Year 11 Hospitality class teachers Mrs Katherine Feliciano and Ms Brooke MacDonald.
