The Social Justice & Youth Ministry Program at St Patrick’s College provides the opportunity for students to be involved in many activities and events that facilitate faith formation. These opportunities also provide a broader perception of the world around them, outside of the ‘Shire” microcosm, through active participation.
Justice programs form a significant part of our College community. Justice and service is our response to the inalienable value and dignity of every human being, serving those in need and pursuing peace. Our call to justice and service is Christ-centred. We are formed through Christian living to bear witness to Christ in everyday life.
A focus of Social Justice with young people equips them to respond to the world by opening opportunities for them to question what is taken for granted and to look at root causes of injustice. Young people’s love for others and their desire to make a difference in the world can be developed through direct service opportunities and a commitment to justice and service in their daily personal and professional lives.
