Students are also given the opportunity to participate and represent St. Patrick's College in a range of INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITIONS including: AFL, Athletics, Basketball, Hockey, Cricket, Indoor Soccer, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis and Touch Football.
Students who have the necessary ability to represent the College in sport are expected to do so in a manner that demonstrates a spirit and enthusiasm in contributing to the efforts of the whole school community. Such an attitude is also regarded as a necessary condition of enrolment.
Students must be prepared to:
- contribute their personal gifts and talents to the school community in sporting activities, especially if selected for representative capacities
- attend all scheduled training sessions and training games
- purchase and wear the correct school representative uniform and protective gear
- conduct themselves in the spirit and true sporting ethics relating to our Catholic College.
Teams are required to work on a Long Term Problem for six weeks, without assistance, to develop creative and original ways to present their solution on Tournament day. They also participate in an unseen Spontaneous Problem on Tournament day which requires rapid interchange of ideas and group co-operation.
It is an opportunity for students with a passion for learning and problem solving to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant and public way. Tournament offers students a unique experience, providing challenge and growth through its six week problem solving structure.
